      Note! South Korea’s KATS released draft safety standards for audio/video application equipment and information/communication/office equipment

      The Korea National Institute of Technology and Standards (KATS) issued draft safety standards for audio/video application equipment and information/communication/office equipment on April 19, 2021.

      The main contents are as follows:

      ● Issue KC 62368-1 Audio/Video and Information Technology Equipment Part 1 Safety Regulations

      ● Repeal the KC 60065 audio/video equipment and similar electrical equipment safety regulations

      ● Abolish the safety regulations of K 60950-1 Information Technology Equipment-Part1

      ● Repeal K 60950-22 Information Technology Equipment-Part 22 Safety Regulations for Outdoor Installation Equipment

      The new standard KC 62368-1 will now be applied simultaneously with the existing safety standards KC 60065, K 60950-1 and K 60950-22.

      The existing safety standards will be abolished after December 31, 2022.

      This draft will be the comment and opinion acceptance period until June 18, 2021.
